How does redistribution work? How many guys are protected, 6? With a min of 2 left unprotected?

How does redistribution work? How many guys are protected, 6? With a min of 2 left unprotected? I'm going to want to know the details before I vote. Hate to think I've tanked just to have expansion teams pick ahead of me in both drafts. Also - do they have a reduced cap limit, or mandatory salary numbers they need to hit?

Both scenarios: -Current teams can protect up to 6 players (combined salary must not exceed the salary cap) -You cannot lose more than 2 players -You get a TPE for each player taken
Expansion draft: -2 new teams. -Each team selects 7 players -Each new team has a salary cap 2/3 the salary cap of rest of league -Each team must select 2/3 of their adjusted salary cap with their 7 selections
Redistribution draft: -Each current team selects one player -Order determined by regular season record.

Where do the expansion teams fall in the rookie and redistribution draft order?

Expansion teams would get #4 and #5 in college draft.
If we did expansion teams, there would be no redistribution draft

I would have voted for expansion but dropping two spots in the Rokie draft is a dealbreaker for me. Sorry.

Do we have two managers ready to come in? That's the hard thing if this were to happen, as it is impossible to give adequate notice to existing managers.
I always like the idea of a Redistribution.

Is the redistribution draft the thing we do each year where each team protect 6 players under contract, can lose 2 players through other teams grabbing them and then choose to protected the remaining?

Im for expansion. But it doesn't really effect me. I do think it's hard to get that approved at the end of the season, because teams have made plans and would have altered them if they knew they would be bumped 2 places etc. It would probably be easier to do redistribution draft this year, and approve an expansion effort for next year now.
That said, I'll vote for an expansion as long as we can find two managers.

I voted to keep as is. I also feel that we can schedule expansion for the following season to give Managers notice. We wouldn’t even have to vote for it, IMO.

Technically expansion is supposed to be the default, so expecting it shouldn't be an issue. But I do get it for newer replacement guys since we haven't done expansion in a while
