So being my first year skip I just wanted to ask how exactly do you make the decision?? I'm guessing reports and such, but I was just curious.

I think it's a mixture of common sense and reports. If you see a report that favors an outcome you like I'd go ahead and send it to Brian or post it here. Couldn't hurt to make sure he sees it, although there is still no guarantee.

To Brian's credit... He's right most almost every time. Very few instances where a player makes a surprise decision.
This year I think the tough one is Ellis based on the report today he might stick around.

Ya, common sense and reports, etc. Ive been wrong, but really the only times Ive been wrong were when it's a shock. Meaning even the owner who had the player expected it to go the same way I did. So the value attributed to the player really did change.
It's unavoidable because of how long players have to decide, and how far it runs into our free agency
